Monitor Pipeline Conditions

ENVI products can help you use remotely sensed imagery to improve your ability to monitor pipelines that can cover thousands of miles and are often at least partially located in remote areas that are difficult and expensive to monitor.

Use ENVI & Remotely Sensed Imagery to Monitor Pipeline Conditions

Trucks or earthmoving equipment, slope motion and ground movement, vegetation overgrowth, and environmental changes near pipelines can be identified from various types of imagery using state-of-the-art classification tools and a Feature Extraction tool.

The Feature Extraction tool applies an object-based classification using spatial, textural, and/or spectral attributes to extract features of interest as raster or vector data and includes a wizard-like interface to guide you through the analysis from beginning to end. Rapid rendering preview screens readily allow for adjustments at any point in the workflow.

ENVI products also provide an array of sophisticated tools for dynamically viewing the same location in two or more images simultaneously, as well as tools for automatically detecting changes.

Areas of change are easily overlaid onto other images, with or without transparency, to quickly highlight change. Extracting various types of features and information about how they change from remotely sensed imagery can significantly improve your ability to accurately monitor pipelines.
