| ID | Description |
|---|---|
| 51221 | Pyramids fail to build for NITF images in read-only directories |
| ArcMap™ will try to create three files (*.rrd, *.aux.xml, and *.aux) when building pyramids. These files are written into the directory where the NITF image resides. If this directory is read only, these files can not be created and ArcMap will fail to build pyramids. To work around this issue, the NITF image can be moved to a directory where the ArcMap user has write permissions.. | |
| 51488 | Some very large images do not display when opened |
| Depending on the ratio between the cell size on the screen, and the cell size available in the image, ArcGIS switches between Block IO, when the ratio is small, and Raster IO (resampled IO), when it's large. In BlockIO mode, ArcGIS can fail to allocate memory, and when this happens the image will not display initially. To workaround this issue you can use the ArcMap Zoom to Raster Resolution option or slowly zoom in until the NITF image displays. | |
